Rizzo Acquires Duncan Disposal Systems, Inc.

New York, NY – Rizzo Environmental Services, Inc., (“Rizzo” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, LLC (“Kinderhook”), announced today the acquisition of Duncan Disposal Systems, Inc. (“Duncan”). This transaction represents Kinderhook’s 28th transaction in the environmental services sector. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Rizzo is the Southeast Michigan market leader in the provision of curbside collection services for municipal solid waste as well as commercial services and recycling processing. Headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with additional service locations in Royal Oak, White Lake, Warren, Pontiac, Romulus, Wayne and Battle Creek, Michigan, Rizzo provides curbside collection for municipal solid waste, recycling, and compost to municipalities throughout Southeast Michigan.
Having celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, Rizzo is the largest municipal waste hauler in the Metro Detroit area. With the addition of Duncan, the Company now serves over a half million households per week in 53 communities across Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Livingston counties.

Financing for the transaction was provided by Comerica Bank, FirstMerit Bank, KeyBank, and Webster Bank. Kirkland & Ellis served as legal counsel to Kinderhook and Rizzo.
